This is the early early early stuff. John, Rich, and I were transitioning out of our band The Billy Crosby’s and trying to figure out what was next. We were getting together a lot in Rich’s basement and had just discovered (a) stoner country music from the 60s/70s and (b) Wild Turkey. John and I had recently broken up with long term girlfriends. These were lost, wild, reckless, wonderfully playful times. We fancied ourselves country singers and I think we wanted to do stuff that was in the spirit of Shel Silverstein and Kris Kristofferson but we didn’t know how. Recorded by Rich on his Roland VS-1880, on which we recorded just about everything in those days. Rich had the gear and he had the know-how. Still does.
