Also from the Outsiders record. We recorded this album at Strange Weather in Brooklyn with Daniel Schlett at the helm. We just couldn’t seem to hit our stride, find our groove. A week after tracking, I visited the studio and Daniel and I cut the more desolate mix that ended up on the record. Looking back, this mix hits it in a different way. Another one about struggle. Working class kids facing stressors no young person should have to face. Marginalized kinds, outside in almost every sense of the word. But then they create new insides through the relationships they build outside with their friends. Love that line from Bob Dylan’s “Joey” about how he was “always on the outside of whatever side there was…”
