about

Initially inspired by the Dave Eggers novel A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, this one became something of a song to rally around especially during the mid-2000’s in Asbury Park. Folks got tattoos of the lyrics, would jump on stage and sing along. The popularity of this song caught us off guard and in many ways propelled us forward locally and beyond. This recording is from maybe 2010-11 at the Mercury Lounge in NYC, the last show of a 33 day U.S. tour.
